In the 20th century a larger mastery of production techniques is acquired, all biochemical processes are deeply managed and the cold chain is widely employed. Furthermore, all over the word there are ways of safe and speedy transportation and the giants of the beer industry, thanks to which beer became a global phenomenon, are created.

During all the 20th century, the beer multinationals, starting from Heineken that first established its headquarters in the USA at the end of the prohibitionist era (1933), worked on enlarging beer consumption and implementing its diffusion through a policy meeting the needs of the final market.
